A corset is only as good as its fit. Too loose and you lose the sculpting effect; too tight and you lose the evening. Here's how to get it right the first time.
Step 1: Take three measurements
All you need is a soft measuring tape and two minutes:
- Bust: around the fullest part of your bust, tape level.
- Waist: around the narrowest part of your natural waistline.
- Hips: around the fullest part of your hips, about 20 cm below your waist.
Step 2: Compare with our corset size chart
Our pieces follow standard EU sizing. All measurements below are body measurements in cm — you'll also find this chart on every product page and in our Size Guide.
| Size | EUR | UK | USA | Bust (cm) | Waist (cm) | Hips (cm) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| XS | 34–36 | 6–8 | 2–4 | 80–86 | 59–65 | 85–91 |
| S | 36–38 | 8–10 | 4–6 | 86–92 | 65–71 | 91–97 |
| M | 38–40 | 10–12 | 6–8 | 92–98 | 71–77 | 97–103 |
| L | 40–42 | 12–14 | 8–10 | 98–104 | 77–83 | 103–109 |
| XL | 42–44 | 14–16 | 10–12 | 104–110 | 83–89 | 109–115 |
Step 3: The golden rule — size up
Because our corsets are structured with internal boning and handmade in small batches, we always recommend sizing up if you're between sizes. This matters most for wide-band and non-stretch styles like the Cherry Red Mesh Corset. Many of our designs also feature an adjustable lace-up back — like the Marry the Night corset — which lets you fine-tune the fit to your exact body.
How should a corset feel when it fits right?
Snug, supported and secure — never squeezed. A well-fitted corset hugs your waist firmly while still letting you breathe deeply and sit comfortably. The boning should lie flat against your body without digging in, the bust line should sit close without gaping, and you should be able to slip two fingers under the band. If it pinches at the ribs, digs at the hips, or you find yourself holding your breath, go one size up — structure should shape you, not fight you.
Corset sizing FAQ
How tight should a corset be?
Snug at the waist with light, even pressure — you should be able to slip two fingers under the band, breathe deeply and sit comfortably. If it pinches or restricts your breathing, it's too small.
Should I size up or down in a corset?
If you're between sizes, size up. Structured corsets with internal boning don't stretch like regular tops, and a lace-up back lets you tighten the fit — but nothing fixes a corset that's too small.
How do I measure myself for a corset?
Take three measurements with a soft tape: bust at the fullest point, waist at the narrowest point of your natural waistline, and hips at the fullest point, about 20 cm below your waist. Keep the tape level and snug, but don't pull it tight.
